Neelkanath Group of Institution a T-20 cricket tournament in October 2014.The tournament enlisted participation of 16 cricket teams from Senior Secondary Schools of New Delhi ,Noida , Ghaziabad Modinagar, Meerut and Muzaffarnagar. The Opening Ceremony of the tournament was graced by the benign presence of Mr. PankajYadav , District Magistrate Meerut as the Chief Guest and Mr.Navneet Singh Chahal . Chief Development Officer, Meerut as the Guest of Honour.BalBharti International School, New Delhi emerged as the winner of the Tournament.The highlight of the tournament was the inspiring presence of the Mr. Virender Sehwag, Member Indian Cricket Team as a Chief Guest at the prize Distribution Ceremony. He presented trophies, Medals and prizes to the players of the winner and Runner up Teams and complementary T-shirts to all participants. In his brief address, he congratulated the winner and offered words of motivation and wisdom for the budding cricketers. He urged all the participants to play the game with a true sportsman spirit.
The foundation of the Nelkanth Cricket Academy ( NCA) was laid by Mr.Brijveer Singh , Chairman NGI in a spectacular ceremony held on 28th January, 2015 in the presence of Shri Rajesh kumar ,IAS Vice –Chairman,Meerut Development Authority .The sole aim of NCA is providing quality cricket training,world-class cricketing infrastructure,and opportunity to learn from experts in the field of cricket.Presently, 160 aspiring cricketers are undergoing training in the academy. The office Bearers of Neelkanth Cricket Academy : Sh.Brijveer Singh – Chairman, Sh. Amar Ahalawat- President and Sh. Athar Ali-Secretary and Chief Coach. Mr. Athar Ali is a renowned cricket coach of national repute. He has been imparting cricket training for more than three decades. He has shaped the cricket careers of many national and international players. He has coached many cricket prodigies like:BhuvaneshwarKumar&Karan Sharma who have earned a respected place in the Indian Cricket Team.He has given 14 cricketers to Indian Railways team.22 players coached by him have played in the Ranji Trophy and 5 players have played in the IPL T-20. NCA has signed an MOU with Sehwag Cricket Academy, under which the infrastructure development aspects and conduct of cricket tournament will be done in alliance.
